Any time you have the Ruhr derby it is a big weekend in the bundesliga, add to that an interesting match between Hamburg and Leverkuesen and it promises to be a big weekend.

The Friday night game is between two teams of the past. The big story is how the Madonna Concert ruined the pitch! Wearing Stiletto's on the soft ground, jumping around like a teenager on Ecstasy, for shame!

Sa 13.09.08 15:30 Werder Bremen - Energie Cottbus -:-

Bremen need to win, especailly before the Champions league starts. Mertesaker is still out with injury.

Hamburger SV - Bayer Leverkusen
the new big spenders of the Bundesliga vs the Aspirin boy's. Leverkeusen have keeper Adler returning from injury, potentially a better game than the Ruhr derby if you ask me.
Hertha BSC - VfL Wolfsburg -:-

Hertha has Voronin on loan from Liverpool ( not sure why Liverpool dropped him?). Wolfsburg have yet to lose in the new season.

Borussia Dortmund - FC Schalke 04 -:-

Almost always a good game, Shalke is the better team now but that means nothing.

1899 Hoffenheim - VfB Stuttgart -:-

The early season leaders (after first two rounds!) should lose to Stuttgart.

About 30 years ago this would of been a big game. Will Podolski get to play against his former and possibly new club ( if man city do not by him in the winter?) Bayern signed another old dog or got him on loan I think ( Massimo Oddo)?
